What Exactly Happened in Chapter 119 of Sakamoto Days
After Kindaka’s death, the previous chapter picked up just where it left off. Rion saw Uzuki intentionally drop the bottle, confirming that the JAA leader had indeed passed away. While Uzuki understood that Kindaka had given his life to save him, Rion blamed Uzuki for Kindaka’s death.
Uzuki had no choice but to adopt a combative position now if he didn’t want Rion, Nagumo, or Sakamoto to capture him. Therefore, the group needed to settle on a course of action. While Rion went after Uzuki, Sakamoto and Nagumo stayed behind to watch out for Konomi and Amo. She took Nagumo’s revolver and left a pack of smokes with Sakamoto, before making her escape, secure in the knowledge that she could do so quickly.
When Sakamoto revealed that this was the final time he had ever seen her, the scenario took a surprising turn. Sakamoto and Nagumo visited Kindaka’s hospital room three days after his death. Yotsumura, who was also present, said that there was no smoking gun evidence linking Uzuki to Kindaka’s death, and no word had come from Rion. However, autopsy results pointed to poisoning as the cause of Kindaka’s death.
Yotsumura also expressed skepticism about Rion’s motivations because she had disappeared. However, he invited Sakamoto and Nagumo to join the Order.
