The South Asian Football Federation’s national teams compete in the international women’s football competition, the SAFF Women’s Championship, in its sixth iteration in 2022. From September 6–19, 2022, the competition will take place in Kathmandu, Nepal. India is the defending champion after defeating Nepal 3-1 in the championship game on March 22, 2019.

SAFF Women’s Championship Latest Results, Schedule, Indian Team Performance, And Other Details
Reigning champions India defeated Pakistan 3-0 in their opening match of the SAFF Women’s Championship on Wednesday at the Dasarath Stadium in Nepal. A goal from Dangmei Grace and own-goal by Maria Jamil Khan, effectively sealed the contest in India’s favor by giving them a 2-0 lead. Later in injury time, Soumya Guguloth scored a third goal for India and sealed the victory. India’s winning streak in the Championship, where they will next face the Maldives on Saturday, now stands at 27 games.
In another game of Group A, Bangladesh thrashed Maldives by a score of 3-0 and captured full three points. Hence, it is believed that India and Bangladesh will be the two teams, who will make it to the semi-final stage from Group A.
