SAFF U-17 Championship India vs Nepal Final Result, Score, Winner, And Other Details
Given their recent performance and dominance, pundits and bookmakers regarded Nepal as the obvious favorite to win the championship. However, India’s Boby Singh scored the game’s opening goal in the 18th minute, following a wonderful cross from the right side by India captain Vanlalpeka. Later in the 38th minute, Korou Singh scored his second goal, which was again assisted by Vanlalpeka.
After Nepal scored its second goal, things only got worse for them as their captain Prasanth received a red card in the 38th minute. After end of first half, India went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead and Nepal was in serious trouble. The 10-man Nepal team was clearly frustrated as they attempted to overcome a two-goal disadvantage without their captain while India continued their first-half dominance in the second.
In the 63rd minute, the deficit of two goals increased to three with Indian captain Vanlalpeka becoming the goal scorer with his attempt from the left flank, which found the top right corner, leaving the Nepal goalkeeper with little chance. At the end of the second half, there were five minutes of injury time, and substitute Aman scored the game’s last goal after receiving a through ball and slipping the ball in between the keeper’s legs.
