2023 SAFF Championship schedule, date, venue, India vs Pakistan result, & latest standings
India started their 2023 SAFF Championship defense with a stunning 4-0 victory against arch-rivals Pakistan thanks to hat-trick from star-forward Sunil Chhetri. In the 10th minute, Chhetri scored the opening goal to make it 1-0 in favor of India. Later, India were awarded two penalties and Chhetri converted both of them to make it 3-0 and complete his hat-trick. During the 81st minute, Udanta Singh scored to extend India’s lead and secure India finished the match with a resounding 4-0 victory.
In the other game of Wednesday, Kuwait managed emphatic 3-1 victory against Nepal and bagged maximum points from the match. With this win, India sit at the top of Group-A and can secure their place in the semi-final with a win over Nepal in their next clash. According to official schedule, it is known that the 2023 SAFF Championship will resume on Thursday with matches featuring Lebanon vs. Bangladesh and Maldives vs. Bhutan.
