In a late-night tweet, Conor McGregor attacked PJ Gallagher and made fun of his difficulties with mental health
Conor McGregor has drawn criticism for criticising PJ Gallagher.
Gallagher, who has committed to St. Patrick’s University Hospital exactly one year ago today, has spoken out about his struggle with mental illness. And after disappearing from our airwaves, the former star opened up about his battle with mental illness.

Conor McGregor nevertheless attacked Gallagher online before taking down a tweet. “@pjgallagher you tiny sad pox of a thing,” McGregor wrote in a post at 1.32 am on December 17. You sad c***, please sit up straight and grin once in a while. and your prawn-like stance while you sob over despair in the newspaper.
Poor bastard. Ireland is me. Don’t overlook it. Blood is on my flag, useeso. In response, Gallagher shared the deleted tweet with McGregor and said: “Excuse me! To walk with the posture of a prawn, years of laborious work were required. I am delicious!
Gallagher has experienced mental health issues.
Due to Gallagher’s honesty regarding his mental health problems, St. Patrick’s University Hospital treated him in December of the previous year.
Celebrities have supported Gallagher.
Celebrities and fans have expressed their support for Gallagher and their disapproval of McGregor for the offensive remark. Following his remarks, McGregor came under fire. Former Fine Gael TD Noel Rock said: “Jesus. Wow. He never ceases to astonish me with his ability to sink to new depths.”
While another user of social media stated: “Absolutely ridiculous comment. But I wouldn’t have hoped for any better from him. a source of national shame.” One reviewer said, “PJ Gallagher is ten times the man McGregor can ever hope to be.” Added one more: “Conor McGregor wrote a rather nasty letter to PJ Gallagher. A significant issue is a mental health. Shame on McGregor. He acts extremely ignorantly.”
Legendary Irish footballer Paul McGrath emailed Gallagher a message of support “Pj, everyone loves you so don’t listen to the bullies. Don’t ever, under any circumstances, let him win, my friend.” McGrath addressed Gallagher and McGregor in his tweet.
