India was defeated by Sri Lanka in the Super 4 game at the 2022 Asia Cup on Tuesday. It was India’s second straight Super 4 defeat.
The six-time Asian champion has now been eliminated from the 2022 Asia Cup. The blame for the loss was thrown on Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Pakistan criticizes and spits hatred against India, which is nothing new.

After the defeat of Sri Lanka, a Pakistani journalist by the name of Arfa Feroz Zake blamed the captaincy of Rohit Sharma for the defeat. He even urged the BCCI to act immediately and should withdraw Rohit Sharma from the role of captain and return it to Virat Kohli.
However, since he became captain, Rohit Sharma has maintained the record for being the most successful T20I captain for India. He has brilliant captain records and stands among the other top international cricket players. Rohit Sharma played brilliantly and contributed 72 runs from 41 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. However, despite his brilliant knock, the middle order was not able to perform well and left the captain disappointed.
Howeber, Rohit has had to face backlash from Indian supporters as well who have been miffed at his horrid captaincy against both Sri Lanka and Pakistan with his team selection, decadent attitude and refusal to listen to Arshdeep Singh all being put to the sword.
Asia Cup 2022: Sri Lanka defeated India by six wickets
India had to suffer a defeat to Sri Lanka in their second game of Super 4 at the Asia Cup on Tuesday. India was invited to bat first and put 173/8 in 20 overs on the board. Rohit Sharma (72 off 41) and Suryakumar Yadav (34) were the highest run gatherers for India. Chamika Karunaratne and Dasun Sanaka took two wickets each.
Coming to chase, Sri Lanka chased down the total of 174 in 19.5 overs. Kusal Mendis was the highest run gatherer and contributed 57. While Pathum Nissanka and Dasun Shanaka scored 52 and 33* runs respectively. Yuzvendra Chahal was the highest wicket-taker with three wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin took one wicket.
Team India will now face Afghanistan is their final game of the Super 4 on September 8.
