At the 2024 SA20 group stage’s conclusion, a single point separated the two sides, 33–32. The Eastern Cape is the first SA20 champion to have their title successfully defended. The SEC has accomplished a double after defeating DSG in the 2024 SA20 Final, having won the inaugural title in 2023.

Choosing to bat, the Sunrisers Eastern Cape amassed an incredible 204 runs. Every player struck the ball with at least 150 strikes per minute. Following a 55-run blast off the bat of Tom Abell, Tristan Stubbs closed the innings on a high note with 56 off 30 balls.
