With the SA20 2024 League auction set to take place next month, all the six franchises have announced their retained players list, check out all the lists, squad and date

Ahead of the auction, all the six teams have focused on retaining homegrown South African talent with quality overseas players in their retained players list.

Betway SA20 League 2024 auction rules and details

The Betway SA20 League 2024 auction will be held on September 27th in Johannesburg. Fans will be able to watch the live broadcast on SuperSport. This season, the SA20 auction will feature 15 auction picks across all six teams. Moreover, each team will get to pick a new Rookie player. The rookie player has to be under 22 years, with no prior experience of playing in the SA20 league before. As such, there will be 21 picks on the day.

Each team will have a salary purse cap of R39.1 million as teams look to make last-bid strategic purchases to complete their final squads ahead of the tournament. Each team will consist of 19 players with a minimum of 10 South African players alongside a new rookie player who must also be South African. There is also a maximum limit of seven international players.

SA20 Wildcard option

During the inaugural season, each team got a wildcard option, which proved to be a hit among the franchises. Four of the teams have retained their Season 1 Wildcard selections into their main Season 2 squads. As such, those four teams will have new Wildcard players for Season 2. Moreover, they have until December 30th to confirm their Wildcard player.

Durban’s Super Giants retained players list

Durban’s Super Giants have three players to add after finalising 16 signings in their squad. They have R1.675 million left to make those three signings.

Joburg Super Kings retained players list

Joburg Super Kings have five spots to fill with R6.1 million remaining in their purse.

MI Cape Town retained players list

MI Cape Town have R5.05 million remaining in their purse with Jofra Archer retaining his slot as the Wildcard player.

Paarl Royals retained players list

Paarl Royals currently have R8.865 million in their purse and have the potential to add high-profile overseas-based players in the upcoming auction. They currently have only four slots left to fill up.

Pretoria Capitals retained players list

Season 1 runners-up Pretoria Capitals have a remaining purse of R9.737 million. They will need to use this to fill up their remaining six spots in their 19-player squad. They could potentially fill in five of those six spots with overseas players.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape retained players list

The Sunrisers Eastern Cape have retained the core members of their championship-winning squad from last season. They have only three picks left and a purse value of R1.865 million available for the upcoming auction.
