Ryan Burl Puma : Burl had taken to Instagram to share a picture of his ripped shoes as he appealed for financial help for the cricket team
The last couple of years have seen massive turmoil in the ranks of Zimbabwe cricket. Internal ruckus in the country’s cricketing body and interference in the board by the government lead to the country being banned by the International Cricket Council.
While Zimbabwe has since seen its ban been uplifted, the country still has a long way to go before it can get its house in order. And to add to the country’s cricket team’s woes is the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic which has caused financial upheaval for the side.
Ryan Burl Shares Picture Gluing Shoes
Currently devoid of an official sponsor owing to their ban and dwindling form, Zimbabwe’s dire financial state was revealed by cricketer Ryan Burl. Taking to Instagram, the 27 year old who made his debut in 2017 shared a picture of him gluing his shoes back on.
Burl had grovelled for a company to sponsor the Zimbabwe cricket team so that the side and its members are able to stave clear of such future misdemeanours.
Burl’s emotional post had set social media platforms alight with many left beleaguered by the state of Zimbabwe cricket at the moment. Manifold people had come forward to request financial aid for the side along with scrouging for organisations to offer their sponsorship.
