Gaikwads historic double century secured a place in the semis for Maharastra
Gaikwad played an amazing hand in the quarterfinal game between Maharastra and Uttar Pradesh on Monday in Ahemdabad. The Maharastra captain scored 220* runs off just 159 balls with the help of 10 fours and 16 sixes in the first innings of the match.
The 25-year-old’s destructive double century helped Maharastra to post a massive total of 330 runs in front of UP. In reply except for Aryan Juyal, no one stood up to the task and in the end, team UP was all out on 272 runs. Aryan Juyal’s 159 runs knock went in vain and Uttar Pradesh crashed out of Vijay Hazare Trophy in the quarter-finals by 58 runs.
