Fans’ Expectations from Rurouni Kenshin Episode 1

The first episode of the new Rurouni Kenshin anime will probably follow in the footsteps of the original by providing some backstory for the former assassin, Himura Kenshin. The episode could provide further background on his time spent as the cold-blooded killer Hitokiri Battousai. After the fall of the Bakumatsu, Battousai reinvented himself as the nomadic samurai Himura Kenshin.

While on his quest for redemption, he meets Kaoru Kamiya, the owner and head instructor of a local dojo. Himura Kenshin chooses to team up with Kaoru Kamiya in order to clear his identity after a man claiming to be Battousai threatens to shut down the dojo. In the process of doing so, he also tries to save the dojo.
