Ruben Filipe Marques Amorim is a Portuguese professional football manager whop was born on January 27, 1985, in Lisbon, Portugal. He was born to parents Anabela Amorim, and Virgílio Amorim. Amorim is also a former player himself and currently the manager of Primeira Liga club Sporting CP since March 2020. During his time as a professional footballer, Amorim mainly played as a midfielder.

According to reports, the Red Devils are keen on singing the Portuguese as a suitable replacement for Erik Ten Haag. The 39-year-old is undoubtedly among the brightest managerial prospects in Europe at present. Moreover, Sporting Lisbon have reportedly given him the green signal to begin negotiations with Man Utd.
The Portuguese manager has previously had links with Liverpool and West Ham United in the past. Moreover, he was even linked with joining Manchester City, with current boss Pep Guardiola’s future uncertain after the current season. The Portuguese manager led the team to a Primeira Liga title in his first full season in the 2020-21 campaign. The club also won the title again in the last 2023-24 season, with 90 points and 96 goals. The club lost just twice and conceded only 27 goals.
In the current season, under Ruben Amorim, Sporting has won all nine of their league matches conceding just two goals. He has also helped the side win the Portuguese League Cup twice and won once with Braga, his first senior managerial role.
