The grand finale of Rubaru Mr India Youth Icon 2022 was held at the Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park in Chennai, India and Banner Lanamai James won the show, know the winner name and prize money
Banner Lanamai James from Manipur’s Senapati district achieved Rubaru Mr. India Youth Icon of 2022 title at the 18th edition of Rubaru Mr. India 2022 championship on Wednesday, 5.10.22.

“India here comes our first Rubaru Mr India Youth Icon 2022 winner who hails from Manipur, @banner_lanamai_james. Many congratulations to the young gentleman,” stated pageant organisers on Facebook.
Kunzang Topgay Bhutia from Gangtok, Sikkim has won the title of Rubaru Mr India 2022 Grand International and was has conferred the title during the grand finale held at Crown Plaza Hotel in Chennai. The prize money of the winners is not known.
24-year-old Kunzang will now be representing India at the Mister Grand International to be held in Brazil in November 2022, meanwhile Kunzang Topgay also won the subtitle of ‘Best Interview’ during the preliminary round.
Bimersh Rasaily from Kurseong also bagged the title of Rubaru Mr. India 2022 East and the ‘Style Icon’ subtitle while Biswajit Roy from Siliguri won the Rubaru Mr. India 2022 National Universe title along with a subtitle of ‘Perfect Body’.
The 28-year-old Biswajit is the son of Pratima Roy and Lt. Pradhan Roy and Bhutia is also the title holder of Mr. Sikkim Manhunt 2018 and he is the son of Chung Chung Bhutia and Tamding Tshering Bhutia.

Who Is Banner Lanamai James
Standing tall at 6 feet, the 22-year-old youth also achieved the best National Costume in the contest, as he showcased the festive costume of the Poumai Naga tribe. According to Mr. James, the entire collection in his wardrobe for the competition was hand-woven by his mother.
“Every pattern and motif in the costume tells a story and every color used to reflects the beauty of nature. The traditional headgear signifies sunrise, bringing light and energy, the celebration of life,” James stated in a video presentation for the pageant.
When I am wearing this, an exuberant costume, I was truly confident to stand in the presence of gods and goddesses,” the Rubaru Mr India Youth Icon 2022 added.
Banner Lanamai James’s Education, Professional Career, And Family
Presently Banner Lanamai James is based in New Delhi, India James is pursuing his master’s degree in English, linguistics, and literature. He is a polyglot and also can speak four languages, including English, Manipuri, Hindi, and Nagamese. He did his bachelor’s at Kristu Jayanti College. He was born to James Lanamai and Karaib Pundina. By profession Banner is a freelance model.
Rubaru Mr India Criteria
- The contestant/ participant should be a bona fide Indian citizen, holding a valid Indian passport, and should be a resident of India as per the applicable laws of India. Mr.Rubaru
- India is a national beauty pageant for men in India and the pageant was launched by Rubaru Group in year 2004.
