Hyderabad, 29 September 2025: The RR Kabel Prime Volleyball League powered by Scapia Season 4, kicking off October 2 in Hyderabad, is set to showcase its strongest international line-up yet

The league has attracted renowned athletes from across the globe; World League champions, continental medalists, and seasoned professionals, reflecting PVL’s growing reputation as one the most competitive volleyball tournaments.

Fans in Hyderabad will have plenty to cheer for this season as the Hyderabad Black Hawks unveil two high-profile Brazilian signings. Setter Paulo Iury Lamounier Setter arrives after finishing as runner-up in the prestigious AVC Champions League with Shahdab Yazd, while attacker Vitor Yudi Yamamoto, who first burst onto the scene with a gold medal at the South American U21 Championship in 2018, joins fresh from helping SK Zadruga Aich/Dob complete the Austrian treble. Their flair and athleticism promise to electrify the home crowd in the league’s host city.

The Kochi Blue Spikers have gone big on international pedigree, led by French outside hitter Nicolas Maréchal, a 2015 European Champion, World League winner, and current star with Italian powerhouse Modena Volley. Adding to Kochi’s arsenal is Byron Caleb Keturakis, a towering 6’8” Canadian setter who was part of the national team’s 2023 Pan America Cup triumph.

The Bengaluru Torpedoes will feature a formidable American pairing. Explosive opposite Jalen Penrose, who helped Team USA secure gold at the 2023 NORCECA Pan Am Final Six, teams up with decorated setter Matthew West, a three-time NCAA All-American and former U.S. youth-national team standout.
The Goa Guardians also turn to U.S. firepower, signing veteran attacker Jeffrey Menzel, who has represented America at the World University Games, alongside versatile universal Nathaniel Dickinson, a product of the American collegiate circuit.

The Delhi Toofans bank on Venezuelan strength, bringing in Jesús Chourio, a national team regular at the 2014 FIVB World Championship, and rising outside hitter Carlos Berrios, who clinched bronze at the Pan America Cup U23.

The Chennai Blitz bolsters their lineup with Brazilian attacker Luiz Felipe Perotto, known for his raw power at the net.

The Ahmedabad Defenders boast one of the most diverse international rosters this season. Mongolian outside hitter Batsuuri Battur, a standout at the 19th Asian Games and multiple-time Mongolian Premier League award winner, brings aerial dominance and attacking versatility. He is joined by Venezuelan middle blocker Ronald Martínez, a 2.06 m giant with pro experience across Portugal, the Czech Republic, and Israel.

The Calicut Heroes have snapped up Tharusha Chamath, a prolific outside hitter from Sri Lanka who topped the scoring charts in the UAE First League with Shabab Al-Ahli in 2022. Alongside him is Benin’s Dete Bosco, who recently dominated the Red Bull Bak Line Tournament in Türkiye.

The Kolkata Thunderbolts strengthen their squad with Colombian outside hitter Sebastián Gómez, a decade-long national team member (2012–2022) and MVP of the Maldives League in 2025, paired with Iranian middle blocker Matin Takavar, a seasoned campaigner with 14 years in the Iranian and Turkish Super Leagues and five podium finishes to his name.

Finally, the Mumbai Meteors complete the overseas roster with a Norwegian duo. Middle blocker Petter Alstad Østvik, crowned the best blocker in Norway’s Mizunoliga (2024/25), joins forces with veteran outside hitter Mathias Loftesnes, who has amassed an incredible 17 podium finishes in European competitions since 2009, adding further European flair to the league.

From France to Mongolia, Venezuela to Iran, Canada to Brazil, Norway to Colombia; Season 4 of PVL features some of the finest names from across the volleyball world, giving Indian fans the rare opportunity to watch international-caliber athletes alongside the country’s best talent. The arrival of these stars underlines PVL’s transformation into a global volleyball destination.
