74-year old Roy Hodgson has signed a 6-month contract with Watford, who are currently placed 19th in the English League standings. The reason why Claudio Ranieri was sacked after just 16 weeks at Watford was because of the lack of results produced during his tenure at the club.
Hodgson has been out of a job since he left Crystal Palace at the end of last season and his arrival at Watford has surely excited the players at the club. The 74-year old will manage The Hornets till the end of the 2021-22 season after which his fate with the club will be decided. Should he succeed in guiding Watford to perform better for the remainder of the season, Hodgson might continue as The Hornets’ head coach after his initial six months at the club.
The English manager will be joined by his long-time trusted assistant Ray Lewington, who himself boasts of having a good reputation of managing the Hornets from 2002 to 2005.
