It was Putz and Venus’s first ATP 1000 final and they were up against the Frenchmen who have 7 ATP masters titles, hence the odds were in favor of the latter. Although it seemed that Putz and Venus didn’t care much about who the opponents were and stuck to their tactics and it worked.

They hit the right nail in the first set as they won it comfortably, but the match was pushed to the 3rd set by the french duo, but it was Putz and venus’s determination for the first title that they were able to seal the 3rd set.

Prize Money

Tim Putz/ Micheal Venus-  €70,000

P. Herbert/ N. Mahut – €50,000

As we mentioned above that the total prize money for the tournament has taken a toll due to the pandemic, but still there was a surge in men’s singles winner and runner’s up winning amount. However, it’s not the same in the doubles.

There is a reduction of 24% and 27.5% in the winners and runner’s up prize money this year.
