Head To Head: 0-0

Roberto Bautista Agut and Jiri Lehecka have never faced each other in their ATP career so the head-to-head for now is 0-0.

Prediction

Lehecka and Bautista Agut will be meeting for the first time at this event.

After receiving a bye in the first round, Bautista-Agut won 6-1, 6-4 in an hour and 20 minutes to go to the quarterfinals.

Rodionov held his serve for the first point in the opening set, but after that, the Spaniard broke him twice in a row to establish a one-to-nothing advantage.

In the fifth game of the second set, Bautista-Agut broke once more. He then saved a break-point in the tenth game of that set before winning the match on the first match-point he received.

Lehecka had been favoured to advance to the quarterfinals when he faced Joao Sousa in the second round, and he succeeded in doing so after a tense contest that required a third set.

In the end, Lehecka defeated Sousa 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-3 after two hours and a 26-minute duel. Lehecka had previously competed in Gstaad’s second round the previous week, where he had lost to Casper Ruud.

It’s interesting to note that Lehecka previously advanced to the semifinal in Rotterdam on indoor hard courts in February of this year, but she hasn’t exactly won back-to-back ATP tour matches since then.

Lehecka will now try to replicate his performance from Rotterdam with that out of the way, but he will be up against a player who is ranked more than 40 places above him. The one bright spot is that Lehecka excels on clay courts, whereas Bautista-Agut has had trouble finding success there.

Even though Bautista-Agut is the clear favourite in this race, it’s believed Lehecka has a chance. A surprise victory on the way? Quite likely.
