Robert Blake, the acclaimed Emmy-winning actor whose life took a turbulent swing from praise to infamy following his trial and eventual acquittal in the death of his wife, passed away on Thursday at the age of 89.
A statement issued on behalf of his niece, Noreen Austin, conveyed that Blake breathed his last at his residence in Los Angeles and was surrounded by his loved ones.

His real name was Michael James Gubitosi. He was born on September 18, 1933, in Nutley, New Jersey, U.S. His father’s name is Giacomo (James) Gubitosi, and his mother’s name is Elizabeth Cafone. He also has two siblings; however, nothing is known about them.
He experienced a difficult childhood as his parents abused him. Consequently, he ran away from home when he was in high school.
Robert Blake married three times. He first married actress Sondra Kerr in 1961. They become parents of two children named Noah Blake, who is an actor, and Delinah Blake. However, they got divorced in 1983.
