When Vikir and Aiyen were hunting in the jungle, they came across a settlement. They discovered that the Loloko tribe had been sick with diarrhea in that village.
The tribe (Ballak) that took Vikir in appears to be the least terrible theyโve displayed so far. Theyโre still awful at capturing individuals to marry/procreate with, but this new tribe grabs children, whereas the old tribe they displayed at the fort before Redhead was captured the people.
There appears to be a clear reason why the empire isnโt attempting to make friends with the tribes. The youngster is Vikirโs niece and Hugoโs granddaughter. Her mother was Hugoโs daughter, who was abducted and gave birth to her in Lokoko.
Pomerian was left alone after she died. Essentially, Vikir discovered his precious young sister, whom Hugo cherished the most in his previous life. In that regard, she could be the โpreciousโ child who caused him to be burned in a previous life.
He previously stated that “Hugo” was kinder to illegitimate children than any other patriarch until he lost his most precious/loved wife and daughter.
Then he turned into a cold-hearted monster and murdered Vikir, who had been faithful to him in his previous life. Perhaps one of the bodies is that of her mother.
Hugo is a typical person at first and adores his first wife, but when they had their first daughter, she died during pregnancy, and subsequently, his daughter is kidnapped by the Lokoko tribe while they go wife hunting.
