The Reno Air Racing Association (RARA) has confirmed the death of two pilots following a plane collision on Sunday, which occurred while landing at the National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada with the 2023 crash video viral
According to reports, the crash occurred around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, following the conclusion of a “T-6 Gold Race.”

While the crash did not injure any civilians, it led to the death of two pilots, Nick and Chris.
RARA confirms the death of two pilots at Reno Air Show in Nevada
The two planes involved were reportedly landing at the National Championship Air Races in Reno, when they collided with each other at around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday. Nick and Chris, who were flying the two planes, a single-engine North American T-6 G and a single-engine North American AT-6B, were killed instantly following the crash.
Aside from the deaths of the two pilots, the Reno Air Racing Association confirmed that no other civilian injuries occurred during the accident in Nevada. Fred Telling, who is the president of the RARA, stated:
“These two pilots weren’t just an integral part of the National Championship Air Race family, they were a part of my family. My heart goes out to their own families and to all of the spectators and fans who have so enthusiastically supported us this week.”
Federal investigations underway
Following the tragic incident, the RARA stated that they will release more information upon discovery and will currently suspend all racing operations. The RARA stated that they are cooperating with the National Transportation Safety Board, the FAA, and all other local authorities in investigating the incident and identifying the cause of the accident.
The organization further added that they will ensure that all of their pilots, spectators, and volunteers receive the necessary support. Videos of the crash which killed the two pilots from the Reno Air Races in Nevada are currently going viral on social media. In some of these videos, viewers can see officials moving out the crash site using cranes and other equipment. However, there is no footage depicting the remains of the two death pilots.
