These were some of the reactions from NFL fans. Surprisingly, most of these reactions are given by the supporter of the Chiefs, with the latter still to play its Conference Championships game against the Bengals. Therefore, these reactions make no sense since no one knows whether the Chiefs will make it to the Super Bowl or if will it be the Bengals.

Fans criticizing Carl Cheffers have become a common occurrence in NFL recently

Whenever Cheffers and his crew are made in charge of the game, one thing that remains constant is criticism. During his Super Bowl LV in charge of Chiefs vs Bucs, the former was charged 11 penalties for 120 yards. Eventually, the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl LV on a 31-9 score.

Cheffers is most famously known for leading the staff that threw eight first-half penalty flags against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021, which set a new Super Bowl record of 95 penalty yards and six first downs via penalty.

Cheffers was the referee whose holding call late in a Divisional playoff game against the Steelers wiped out a tying two-point conversion and the Chiefs lost 18-16, first was a roughing-the-passer call on a strip-sack and recovery by Chris Jones during a game against the Raiders in October.

On the list of transgressions was last month’s Chiefs-Texans game in which KC was penalized 10 times, while Houston had just four penalties.
