Thomas Tuchel confirmed Reece James’ injury, he would miss the Chelsea matches in the player’s new update
After suffering another injury setback, Chelsea right-back Reece James is expected to remain out until after the forthcoming international break.
Reece James Injury Update, Return Date, History
In his pre-match news conference on Wednesday, Thomas Tuchel acknowledged the injury, admitting that the 22-year-old has injured muscles in his right leg.
James has just recently returned to duty after suffering a hamstring injury in Chelsea’s match against Brighton at Stamford Bridge at the end of December.
He came off the bench against Liverpool and Luton before returning to the starting XI for Saturday’s trip to Burnley, where he played a key role.
The Blues triumphed 4-0 at Turf Moor, with James scoring the game’s first goal and assisting one of Kai Havertz’s two goals. They face another relegation threat in Norwich on Thursday night at Carrow Road, but Tuchel acknowledged that they will be without their talismanic wing-back.

“Everyone was on the training ground today except Ben Chilwell and Reece James, who has a muscle problem as a result of his three matches – not his damaged leg, but the other leg, “During his pre-match news conference, he stated.
“Examining is required. We hoped he’d be able to play today, but he wasn’t able to. To figure out what’s going on, we’ll need to go further.”
Reece James
Following his first start for the Blues in two months against Burnley last Saturday, Reece James Tuchel has revealed that he has suffered another injury setback.
The England international was replaced with 20 minutes remaining against the Clarets and was unable to participate in Wednesday’s training session ahead of tomorrow’s game against Norwich, according to the German coach.

Marcos Alonso
The Spaniard was unable to go to Burnley on Saturday after acquiring Covid-19 in the days leading up to the match.
Alonso was also out for the FA Cup match against Luton Town last week, with Kenedy filling in.
However, with the former Bolton man back in training, it appears that he might be part of the travelling squad that will take to the pitch in East Anglia this midweek as he attempts to build on his recent masterclass against Mohamed Salah and Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
“Marcos is still unwell,” Tuchel had remarked. He has a lot of Covid symptoms, therefore he can’t perform any training or play any games.”

Cesar Azpilicueta
Azpilicueta was pulled off during the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool, but he might be ready to play against Norwich on Thursday after resting against Burnley.
The Spaniard, like Alonso, practised on Monday afternoon, indicating that he may be available for this match already.
“Azpi (Cesar Azpilicueta) was not in training yesterday, so this will be a bit too close for him sadly,” Tuchel stated.

Hakim Ziyech
After suffering up an injury against Lille, the Moroccan was forced to miss both games in the Carabao Cup final.
Ziyech was back in training ahead of Burnley, but Tuchel’s decision not to play him meant he got some much-needed recuperation, with Kai Havertz, Reece James, and Christian Pulisic filling in well. With Newcastle and Lille on the horizon, the German may decide to rest his star creator in this midweek match in order to get him back into the fold for the two forthcoming games.
