The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will sport their unique green jersey for the first time in this IPL 2023 season, check out the meaning behind the jersey, match date, record and stats, previous match results, and more
RCB will wear the ‘green jersey’, in support of the ‘Go Green’ initiative on Sunday, April 23 while hosting the Rajasthan Royals in match 32 of IPL 2023.

RCB are set to play in their green jersey for the first time ever since 2019 at their home venue.
Besides the 2021 season where they wore a special Blue jersey in support of the frontline workers, RCB have worn a green jersey in at least one match of every IPL season since 2011.
Meaning behind RCB green jersey
RCB wear their green jersey as part of their ‘Go Green’ initiative, for creating awareness about planting trees and reducing the effect of Global Warming. Aside from wearing the jersey, the skipper of RCB will also present a plant to the opposition skipper as a memento during the toss.
The green jerseys are made of 100 percent recycled materials and the franchise wear it only during the afternoon matches. As such, they will wear the jersey against Royals in the upcoming game on 3:30 PM on April 23.
RCB green jersey match stats and record
So far, RCB have played 12 games in total while wearing the Green Jersey. However, they possess a poor record having won just won three, while one match was abandoned due to rain. RCB played their first game with the green jersey in the 2011 season against now defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala. They won by 9 wickets, thanks to the performances of Chris Gayle and Tillakaratne Dilshan.
