He passed away at the age of 76, according to his wife Di. Wright had a serious seizure and was hospitalised for many days, according to the Hall of Fame president.

Jim Porter, the president of the Hall of Fame, stated,
Over the past few weeks, it has become abundantly clear the love that so many Hall of Famers and others around the NFL felt toward Rayfield, his wife, Di, and the extended Wright family.
He further added,
We will guard his legacy in Canton with equal tenacity. The Hall of Fame Flag will fly at half-staff through Rayfield’s services next Friday as a tribute to the many lives he touched.
Wright’s sympathy and acknowledgement have flooded Twitter.
Who Was Rayfield Wright?
On August 23, 1945, Larry Rayfield Wright was born. He was an offensive tackle with the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL) for thirteen seasons. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006, he is a part of the team.
Wright grew up in Griffin, Georgia, and went to Fairmont High School, which later amalgamated with Griffin High School. He was a basketball letterman, but he didn’t make the high school football squad.
Wright established the Rayfield Wright Foundation, which assists youngsters in obtaining college scholarships. Wright Up Front, his autobiography, was written and published by him.
He died on 7th April 2022.
His Career
Wright used to be a basketball player who was cut from his high school football team. He joined the football team after a year of playing collegiate basketball at Fort Valley State College, where he thrived.
Wright was drafted in the 7th round of the 1967 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys, and he had to choose between the NFL and the NBA since he was still an outstanding basketball player. He selected the Cowboys, and he had a successful career there.
For his speed and stature, he was dubbed “Big Cat” and helped his club win Super Bowls VI and XII. He was a six-time Pro Bowl selection and a five-time All-Pro selection. Wright retired in 1980 and was later inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the NFL 1970s All-Decade Team, and the Cowboys’ Ring of Honor.
Rayfield Wright’s Death Cause
He was hospitalised after having a violent seizure, according to reports.
Wright has also experienced early-onset dementia in his later years, the result of several brain injuries he claims he sustained over the course of 13 seasons and more than 180 regular-season and playoff games from 1967 to 1979.
His net worth is said to have stood at $5 million.
