Ravi Rana, a politician who was detained along with his wife by Mumbai Police last month in connection with the Maharashtra Hanuman Chalisa dispute, has been granted bail.

They were granted bail by special judge RN Rokade of the special court on the condition of submitting a Rs 50,000 bond and not speaking to the media about the case or tampering with evidence. The court further ordered them not to commit a similar offence while on bail, and that any violation of the bail order would result in their bail being revoked.
The court also ordered the Rana couple to comply with the investigation and to be present if the inquiry officer calls. When contacting Ranas, the police must offer at least 24 hours’ notice.

Ravi Gangadhar Rana is an independent politician from India. He is a third-term MLA in Maharashtra’s 13th Legislative Assembly, representing Badnera (Vidhan Sabha seat) in the Amravati District in the Vidarbha region. He is a 37-year-old man and a Hindu by religion.
Ravi Rana is an Indian independent politician, social worker and founder of the Yuva Swabhiman Party (YSP).
He was born on April 28, 1985. Apart from the fact that he is a graduate, nothing is known about his education. He is the son of Gangadhar Narayan Rana and hails from Shankarnagar, Amravati.
Ravi married Navneet Kaur, a former Telugu actress who subsequently became a Member of Parliament, at a large wedding ceremony. On the 3rd of February 2011, a large number of political leaders and VIPs attended this event and the two have a son named Ranveer Rana.
His career
In 2011, he fasted in central prison for an extended period in order for farmers to receive a fair price for their products. Rana prevented an encroachment on a small neighbourhood barbershop on October 6, 2015.
He beat Shiv Sena candidate Priti Sanjay Band by 15541 votes in the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha elections in 2019, becoming MLA for the third time in a row. Rana then vowed his unwavering support for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
When Rana and his aides broke the law; removed barricades to reach Irwin Square for paying tributes to B R Ambedkar amid a nationwide COVID-19 lockdown by the central government in April 2020, Maharashtra police invoked IPC section 188, which is disobedience to a duly promulgated order by a public servant.
Rana and his wife Navneet were detained by Mumbai police in April 2022 after they insisted on reciting the Hanuman Chalisa in front of Matoshree, the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s residence.
His net worth is said to stand at Rs.5 crore.
