Rasmus Hojlund, a striker for Atalanta, and Manchester United have reached a major wage agreement before his prospective transfer, according to Corriere della Sera. The Red Devils’ top striker target is the international from Denmark. They have already verbally offered him a contract for €50 million with €10 million in add-ons.

The Serie A team rejected the offer, but Hojlund is “ever closer to leaving Bergamo” as the team is close to signing El Bilal Traore for 70 million euros plus add ons. The striker from Almeria was recently acquired by Atalanta for a club-record cost of €30 million, and it’s possible that Hojlund’s transfer to United may coincide with his arrival.
The 20-year-old has already agreed to a basic pay with the Red Devils of €5 million annually, which is more than eight times his current salary of €600,000. Atalanta is currently asking for €75 million to sell him. Hojlund is now in the UK, but he is only there to compete for the team against Bournemouth in an exhibition match.
Rasmus Hojlund has a reported net worth of around 500k dollars and is one of the top upcoming strikers in the world.
Hojlund has worn the No 28, 45 and then 17, which has become his lucky number. In Italy, the No 17 was worn by Napoli icon Marek Hansik and David Trezeguet, the man who scored over 150 goals for Juventus and as Hojlund adores all the great players from yesteryear, he has now made the No 17 his own but his Man Utd jersey number isn’t known.
United will get Hojlund sooner or later
Erik ten Hag, the manager, believes Hojlund has the “ideal” profile to direct United’s attack. The Dane might not be a regular starter right away, but Ten Hag is confident that once he gets used to the team’s playing style, he can develop into a true goalscorer.
Hojlund scored 10 goals in the most recent season for Atalanta, but the 20-year-old required time to adjust after only joining them from Sturm Graz in late August. He didn’t play in any preseason games for the Bergamo team. At United, he might have a similar circumstance, but the manager is more than willing to be patient with him.
Hojlund has already given the go-ahead for a transfer to Old Trafford, so it is now up to United to work quickly to reach a deal with Atalanta. United have a great chance to close the deal now that the player is in the UK. Following the Bournemouth friendly, the player could go the short distance to the north for his checkup.
