Raphael Varane appeared in the playing eleven for the French national side for the UEFA Nations League finals. However, in the 43rd minute, he was substituted after feeling uncomfortable in his legs. While clearing the ball in the first half, the centre back, sustained a calf injury. Further, he left the pitch on his feet and it seemed like nothing was too serious.

Since joining United in the summer of 2021, he started five games along out of seven in the Premier League. His partnership with Maguire seemed to be decent as the pair is new and will improve with time. The recent performance of United was not very good despite adding stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane. United’s captain is already injured meaning both the main centre backs will be unavailable for upcoming matches.

United’s November schedule is tough as they will meet Leicester City, Liverpool and Tottenham in the Premier League, Also, they will be facing Atalanta in the Champions League. The injury of Varane means, United will be forced to play Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof for the next few games.
