The 87th season of Ranji Trophy began from 17th February 2022 after one year absence.
The Ranji Trophy is an Indian domestic first-class cricket competition in which various teams representing regional and state cricket bodies compete. There are presently 38 teams in the league, including representatives from each of India’s 28 states and four of the eight union territories.
Saurashtra are the defending champions who won their first ever tournament in 2019-20 season.

Ranji Trophy Prize Money Pool Distribution
Winners of the Ranji Trophy will now get Rs.2 crore, the runners-up Rs.1 crore while the semi-finalists will be given Rs.50 lakhs.
