Saurashtra’s golden period continues.
Saurashtra won the Ranji Trophy in 2022–2023 after defeating Bengal. It’s the second trophy haul for the Jaydev Unadkat led team in the previous three seasons. The same team was defeated by them in the Ranji Trophy 2019–20.
When Saurashtra was able to reach the 12-run objective in 2.4 overs, the game was over in less than four days. In the first innings, Bengal was bowled out for 174 before Saurashtra put on 404 runs to grab a 230-run lead. The hosts could only muster 241 runs in the second inning, leaving Saurashtra with a 12-run to chase.

Ranji Trophy prize money
Player of the Series received a monetary prize of Rs. 10,00,000 in addition to receiving Rs. 25,000 for Player of the Match. The winning team won a coveted trophy and Rs 2 crore in prize money from the BCCI last year.
Player of the Match in the Final
Jaydev Unadkat, the captain of Saurashtra, was named Player of the Match in the 2022–23 Ranji Trophy. Nine wickets were taken by him, including six in the second innings.
Player of the Series
Arpit Vasavada, a middle-order batsman for Saurashtra, was selected Player of the Series for the 2022–23 Ranji Trophy.
