Many people hoped a return to the ring wasn’t too far off the cards as recent rumours last week claimed The Apex Predator would be in Los Angeles for WrestleMania 39. The Viper has amassed a legendary resume during the course of his 20-year employment with the organisation. Orton has accomplished everything, including competing in the main event of WrestleMania, winning many WWE and World Heavyweight Championships, and winning two Royal Rumble fights.

When did Randy Orton most recently engage in-ring combat?

Given that it has been almost a year since the former WWE Champion last competed, fans are undoubtedly excited to see him make a comeback. On May 20, 2022, on SmackDown, Randy Orton engaged in his most recent match in which he and his tag team partner Matt Riddle sought to defeat The Usos in order to claim the SmackDown tag belts and the title of Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

Despite their best efforts, RK-Bro were defeated by The Bloodline and was unable to complete the task. The Usos’ remarkable 622-day reign as Tag Team Champions came to an end this past weekend at WrestleMania 39 when they were defeated by the duo of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Randy did not participate in Wrestlemania.

The anticipation among WWE fans for Orton’s anticipated return was reduced by the fact that he did not appear at WrestleMania or any of the other WWE shows that week. The WWE Fans loved the new aspect of his character that emerged when he teamed up with Riddle. After being out of the ring for a few months, Riddle made his return on Monday’s episode of Raw to attack The Miz. He later intervened on SmackDown to prevent Sami Zayn from being attacked two at a time by Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa.

When Orton returns, it’s unknown if WWE intends to team him up with Riddle once more, but having The Apex Predator back in any capacity would be enormous for the product. Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Gunther, Edge, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, and a host of other superstars lead WWE’s powerful male roster, but Orton’s eventual comeback would definitely add a tonne of star power and excitement to WWE’s weekly programmes.
