The long-delayed trial is planned to begin next week. As was previously announced, and according to PWInsider, Orton is expected to testify as a witness.

In 2018, tattoo artist Catherine Alexander sued WWE, Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., 2K Games, Inc., and 2K Sports, Inc. Alexander claims to be the sole owner of all the original artwork created for Randy Orton. According to the lawsuit, the defendants are violating her copyrights. Because she never consented to their recreation in the video games. 

The Case Of Randy Orton

The trial, which has been repeatedly delayed over the previous few years for a variety of reasons. Is scheduled to begin on September 26 in the Southern District of Illinois. In September 2020, a judge found that WWE and Take-Two duplicated five of Alexander’s original designs. For which she has registered trademarks, but the judge denied Alexander’s request for a summary judgement. This moves the issue toward a jury trial.

Who Is Randy Orton?

Randal Keith Orton is an American professional wrestler and actor who is contracted to WWE. He competes on the Raw brand, however he is currently sidelined with a back issue. He is considered as one of the all-time best professional wrestlers.

Bob Orton, his father Bob Orton Jr., and his uncle Barry Orton were all professional wrestlers, making Orton a third-generation wrestler. He trained in and competed for the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Association and Southern Illinois Conference Wrestling before being signed by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE).

Later, after being signed by the WWF, he was transferred to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), where he twice successfully defended the OVW Hardcore Championship. After making his WWE debut, he instantly joined the stable Evolution, which helped him win his first championship with the organisation: the Intercontinental Championship. In a storyline where he started insulting and eventually physically assaulting WWE Hall of Famers and wrestling veterans, he also picked up the nickname “The Legend Killer.”

Orton won the World Heavyweight Championship at the age of 24, making him the youngest world champion in WWE history. After this victory, he left Evolution, sparking a conflict with his old stablemates. Orton and Edge formed the tag team known as Rated-RKO in 2006. They held the World Tag Team Championship collectively. At the age of 27, Orton was the second-youngest two-time WWE Champion after Rated-RKO broke up in the middle of 2007.
