Indian Predator: Diary of a Serial Killer’s sophomore season premieres on September 7, and India Today Originals, the digital division of India Today TV, is in charge of producing it.
Raja Kolander, an accused cannibal who has killed more than 15 people, will be the main focus of this season. When he murdered a journalist, his diary came to light and revealed his prior atrocities in horrifying detail.
Since the news about it went public, it went viral on the internet, and now, many people are trying to find out more about him. So, hereโs what we know about him:
Who Is Raja Kolander?
Raja Kolander is a well-known dreadful murderer and cannibal who killed more than 15 people. He has been in the news because his story was featured in the true-crime documentary series โIndian Predator: The Diary Of A Serial Killer.โ
Ram Niranjan was his true name. In 1962, in Allahabad (or Prayagraj), Uttar Pradesh, India, he was born into the indigenous Kol community. Many people also referred to him as “Raja Kolander,” which meansย “The King of the Kols.”
His wife’s name is Phulan Devi, an elected member of Zila Panchayat. He is the father of 3 children-one daughter and two sons.ย His three children were given the names Adalat (court), Zamanat (bail), and Andolan (protest), which are all various components of the broader system.
He worked as a driver and ad-hoc employee at a government ordinance plant, before being exposed.
His Criminal Life
Prior to beginning to commit murders, Raja Kolandeer was the leader of a car-looting gang.ย He was allegedly well-known in the area for always lending a helping hand to anyone in needย and it appears that he continued this trend when he befriended and murdered his victims.
The ambitious politician allegedly did everything after winning their trust, whether it was via surprising them with a friendly invitation to his pig farm, striking unexpectedly on lonely roads, or leaping from behind.
But according to the documentary, none of these elements were revealed until Raja was connected to the terrible abduction and murder of renowned journalist Dhirendra Singh in December 2000.
Authorities searched his residence after learning of his confession, and when they found his journal, they were suspicious because it had numerous other names written before Dhirendra’s name.
Raja then said that he had not only killed them but also engaged in cannibalism, including consuming their brains before disposing of them. It is believed that he murdered a total of 14 people.
Where Is Raja Kolander Now?
Raja has effectively been detained since his original arrest on December 18, 2000, yet it took more than ten years for him to go on trial for the accusations leveled against him.
Even though he had guided investigators to Dhirendra’s bones and a few actual human skeletons buried near his piggery farm, there were still some questions about whom he had actually killed.
Although the court was able to establish that Kolander, along with his brother-in-law Kolย killed Singh, there was insufficient proof to support the allegations of cannibalism and mass murder. After more than 10 years, the decision was made, and both Kolander and Kol received life sentences.
Kolander has always defended his innocence. He is still alive and in jail.
