Prediction

Nadal, after his victory against Reilly Opelka, admitted that his foot is bothering him for days. The Spaniard, to Helene Elliott, a sports columnist for the LA Times, told, “It was a little bit worse than the last couple of days.”

This is the same pain that sidelined him for four months before he had a fire comeback into his 2022 tennis season. The 21-times Grand Slam champion has already won ATP Summer Set, Australian Open 2022 and Mexican Open this year with his disturbing foot pain. Although the pain is not so severe that it compels him to not defend the Indian Wells title, but he did feel it, especially in the second set yesterday against Opelka.

Nick Kyrgios and Nadal, both are at their best level throughout. The Australian advanced to the last eight following opponent Jannik Sinner’s withdrawal from the Round of 16 due to illness. Nadal, despite the foot pain, reached the quarterfinals and it is anticipated that the pain won’t bother the 35-year-old against Kyrgios.

Knowing all of this, it’s still in favour for the Spanish professional to reach the semifinals of the tournament looking at his tremendous form and brilliant run. He is currently on his 18 matches winning streak so far.
