This season, PBKS have recruited their new skipper Shikhar Dhawan as the successor to their previous captain, Mayank Agarwal.

Ahead of the mini-auction, the franchise retained some players like pacer Arshdeep Singh, South African seamer Kagiso Rabada, and English batsman Johnny Bairstow.
The also retained several Indian all-rounders like Shahrukh Khan, Rishi Dhawan, Atharva Taide and Baltej Dhanda.
The IPL 2023 auction
Punjab Kings went all out in the mini auction splurging a massive โน18 crores on Sam Curran. The franchise however, also brought in some few players at the base price of 20 Lakhs each. These players were Karnataka seamer Vidwath Kaverappa, Bihari all-rounder Shivam Singh and Mohit Ratne.
Besides them, PBKS also roped in Chhattisgarhโs left-handed batsman Harpreet Bhatia for โน40 Lakhs, and Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza for โน50 Lakhs.
