Imad Wasim’s pivotal five-wicket haul swung the game’s momentum in Islamabad United’s favor. Despite this, Multan Sultans managed to reach a respectable total of 159/9, with Usman Khan contributing 57 runs. In the chase, Martin Guptill, Imad Wasim, and Azam Khan played crucial roles in guiding Islamabad towards their target of 160 runs. With only one-run required from the last delivery, Hunain Shah smashed a boundary to seal his team’s emphatic win.
Although Martin Guptill kickstarted with an explosive 50 off 32 deliveries, Islamabad faced successive wicket losses. Nevertheless, Imad Wasim and Naseem Shah ensured Islamabad’s triumph. With their thrilling last-over win in the 2024 PSL final, Islamabad United clinched their third PSL title. Meanwhile, Multan Sultans endured their third consecutive final defeat, still in pursuit of their maiden title.
