The Pakistan Super League 2023 will be the league’s ninth edition. The competition features six teams comprised of both domestic and international players. The player retentions for the next edition were held on Friday, November 11, 2022.
This time, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has joined Peshawar Zalmi after nearly six seasons with Karachi Kings. Shoaib Malik, who was previously with the Peshawar Zalmi, has joined the Karachi Kings. Right-hander Haider Ali has also transferred from the Zalmi to the Kings for the new season.

The teams were permitted to select eight players and may expand their roster to sixteen. The players were classified under the Platinum, Diamond, Gold, and Silver categories.
