Nasser Al Khelaifi, the president of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), is reportedly being investigated for kidnapping and torturing a French-Algerian lobbyist named Tayeb Benabderrahmane in Qatar for six months

Tayeb Benabderrahmane, the lobbyist, had access to sensitive documents about Qatar’s bid for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the TV deal made with beIN media for broadcasting the 2026 and 2030 FIFA World Cups.

Benabderrahmane told L’Equipe that he was taken from his home in January 2020 and tortured for six months by Nasser Al Khelaifi.

According to reports, the 42-year-old was under house arrest and had access to sensitive documents. In a statement to ASP (via GOAL), Benabderrahmane’s lawyers said, “We are very happy that the real file of this story is finally investigated by the French justice.”

This is not the first time that Al-Khelaifi has been investigated by the law. He was once accused of making a deal with Jerome Valcke, who was the former General Secretary of FIFA. He was also charged with corruption because Qatar won the right to host the 2019 IAAF World Championships. But in both cases, he was cleared of all charges.
