As preparations for the Pro Kabaddi League PKL Season 9 auctions are underway, teams have released their retained and released players list

The PKL auctions, which will feature over 500 players, are set to take place from August 5th to 6th in Mumbai.

Following the league’s decision, teams can retain up to six elite players in each category and four new young players. Of course, this all comes under stipulated conditions. Subsequently, all the teams released a retained player list consisting of 111 players in total.

The list contains retained players across all three categories—19 from the Elite Retained Players (ERP) category, 13 from the Retained Young Players (RYP) category, and 38 from the New Young Players (NYP) category.

PKL Season 9 Auction

In this year’s edition, the New Young Players category consists of a total of 41 nominated players. Besides the non-retained players, all the rest will go under the auction hammer in Mumbai from August 5th to August 6th, 2022.

Bengaluru Bulls Retained Players

Bengaluru Bulls have retained 2 of last season’s defenders, Mahender Singh and Mayur Jagannath Kadam, and 1 all-rounder, GB More. Surprisingly, the team excluded star raider Pawan Sehrawat from the retained players list. Pawan, who has been with the franchise for 4 of his 5 seasons in PKL, will be auctioned off this season.

UP Yoddha

UP Yoddha made a shocking move as their retained players’ list did not include Pardeep Narwal, the most expensive player in PKL history.

Bengal Warriors Retained Players

2019 champions Bengal Warriors have added their star raider Maninder Singh to their retained players list. Besides him, the other two palyers retained are Akash Pikalmunde and Manoj Gowda K. The rest of the big names will be heading into the Season 9 player auctions.

Dabang Delhi Retained Players

Defending champions Dabang Delhi have retained six players, of whom only their all-rounder Vijay is an elite player.
