Home team Gujarat Giants defeated Telugu Titans 38-32 in a commanding effort to win the season’s first game. In the second game of the day, the formidable U.P. Yoddhas were easily defeated by an efficient and well-prepared U Mumba team, showcasing their skills.
A staggering 132 matches between December 2 and February 21 of next year will feature 12 teams competing for the championship. The 12-team competition will take place all year long, with stops in twelve different Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Noida, Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Patna, and Delhi.
The competition has also upped the bar for Indian kabaddi since players like Pardeep Narwal and Naveen Kumar first acquired notoriety in this league before becoming regulars on the Indian side. The players that invade the court of the opposition and attempt to touch as many opponents as they can are known as raiders.
The annual Kabaddi tournament, which is played in India, features some thrilling raiders. Pardeep Narwal has 1568 raid points, making him the most successful raider in PKL history. He is the only player in the league who has accumulated over 1500 raid points. UP Yoddhas’ Pardeep is followed by Maninder Singh (Bengal Warriors), Rahul Chaudhari (Jaipur Pink Panthers), Deepak Niwas Hooda (Bengal Warriors), Pawan Sehrawat (Tamil Thalaivas), Naveen Kumar (Dabang Delhi), Ajay Thakur (Dabang Delhi), Sachin Tanwar (Patna Pirates), Vikash Kandola (Bengaluru Bulls) and Rohit Kumar (Gujarat Giants).
