This year’s PKL player auctions will surely be another exciting event as every team gets shuffled out. All 12 PKL teams will get to retain only a few players while the rest are auctioned off.

PKL Player Auctions: Auction Dates
The PKL 2022 season 9 player auctions will take place from August 5–6 and will be set in Mumbai. The auctions will consist of over 500-odd players as all the 12 teams battle amongst themselves to get the players they want.
What are the different player categories, and what are the base prices?
All the players, whether domestic, overseas, or the New Young Players (NYPs), will be divided into four categories. Each player will fall under Category A, B, C and D, and further sub-divided as’ All-Rounders’, ‘Defenders’, and ‘Raiders’ within.
Given below are the base prices for each of the categories:
₹30 Lakhs for Category A
₹20 Lakhs for Category B
₹10 Lakhs for Category C
₹6 Lakhs for Category D
PKL Season 9 Auction Guide
As per the PKL league policies, every team will get to retain some of their squad players from last season. Each franchise can retain up to six elite players and up to four new young players (NYPs) under specified conditions.
The rest of the unretained players will go under the auction hammer during the two-day auction process in Mumbai. The Season 9 Player Pool has 500+ players, including 24 players from the top 2 teams of the Khelo India University Games 2021, Bangalore.
PKL Player Auctions: Purse Pool
All 12 teams in season 9 of the PKL will each have a total player purse of ₹ 4.4 crores. However, there is a condition, as a team’s funds will be reduced based on the number of retained players. The signing price of each player will determine his total salary for the entire season.
Maximum Squad Size For Each PKL Team
Each PKL team can have a maximum of 25 players and needs to have a minimum of 18 players.
