The commencement of the Pro Kabaddi League’s new season is anticipated for later this year, but the preparation for it begins with the PKL Season 9 Player Auction. As per latest updates, few star players were surprisingly released by their team while others were retained as expected.

Pro Kabaddi League 2022 Auction Player Categories and Base Price
Over 500 players will be put up for auction at the PKL season 9 player auction, which is slated to take place on August 5 and August 6 in Mumbai, setting the stage for the new Pro Kabaddi season early next month. Three main player groups make up the Pro Kabaddi League: Indian/domestic players, foreign/international players, and new young players. There are four main categories of professional Indian kabaddi players that are auctioned off, each with a different starting bid. All four of these categories are listed below:

Pro Kabaddi League 2022 Auction Day 1 List of Sold Players, Final Price, Teams, And Day 2 Schedule
There was a lot of competitive bidding on the opening day of the vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9 Player Auction, as well as a few surprises. The most exciting part of the evening was the competitive bidding for raider Pawan Sehrawat, who was eventually purchased for INR 2.26 crore by Tamil Thalaivas, making him the most expensive player in live Pro Kabaddi history. Tamil Thalaivas entered the Pawan Sehrawat bidding at the INR 1.50 crore line, while Haryana Steelers started at the INR 1 crore point. Tamil Thalaivas eventually won the man with a hefty bid of INR 2.26 crore, beating out competition from U Mumba.
Vikash Kandola, a former raider for the Haryana Steelers, attracted the second-highest bid of the evening after Bengaluru Bulls acquired him for INR 1.70 crore. Guman Singh, a 23-year-old raider with exceptional talent, was acquired by U Mumba for INR 1.22 crore, which surprised many. Pardeep Narwal returned to the UP Yoddhas for INR 90 lac, making him the fourth most expensive raider on day 1 of the Player Auction. Pardeep Narwal was signed by UP Yoddhas using their Final Bid Match (FBM) card after Gujarat Giants briefly believed they had acquired the former Patna Pirates talisman.
In terms of defenders, Fazel Atrachali was one of the first players to be up for bid, breaking his own record for being the most expensive foreign acquisition in PKL history after Puneri Paltan made a record-breaking INR 1.38 crore offer to sign him. Mohammad Nabibakhsh, a fellow Iranian, was also in hot demand, and Puneri Paltan eventually purchased the all-rounder for INR 87 lac.
While Rohit Gulia will be sporting the Patna Pirates’ colors in the upcoming season after the three-time champions successfully bid INR 30 lac for him, another notable all-rounder, Deepak Niwas Hooda, joined the Season 7 champion Bengal Warriors. Meanwhile, Haryana Steelers paid INR 37.50 lac to acquire Nitin Rawal.
