The Vivo Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is returning after a long break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, know about the schedule and rules of the auction for PKL 2021

Season 8 of the Pro Kabaddi League 2021 is planned to start in December. The player auctions for PKL 2021 will be from August 29, 2021, to August 31, 2021, in Mumbai.

PKL, which began in 2014 with only eight companies, became a massive hit with the expansion of four new teams.  The PKL Season 7 saw a massive financial increase where more than 50 crores were spent to obtain 200 players with Siddharth Desai being the most costly purchase after Telugu Titans bought him for a gigantic ₹1.45 crore. 

In the meantime, the most high-priced foreign player was the mighty Iranian Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh who was purchased for ₹77.75 lakh by the Bengal Warriors. 

PKL 2021 Auction Players Pool

The auction pool has over 450 players, including the released players. The players who got through the New Young Players (NYP) program and the main eight positioned groups of the senior public kabaddi titles of the last two seasons will be included as well. Overseas players will be in the auction pool too. 

PKL 2021 Squad Size

Every Pro Kabaddi team must have at least 18 players and a limit of 25. This suggests a limit of 300 players across 12 groups who can join in Pro Kabaddi in a given season. 

Foreign Players 

Each team is authorized no less than two and a limit of four overseas players in their team. 

Salary Purse for Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 Auction

The entire Salary Purse to each Franchisee for its team for Season 8 is INR 4.4 Crores. A player’s compensation for the season is decided by the bid set on the player. 

PKL Auction 2021 Rules And Format: Base price for players at the Auction

PKL 2021 auction will see a quartet of dockets with the Domestic, Overseas, and New Young Players (NYPs) all segregated into Category A, B, C and D. Inside every group, the players will be further sub-partitioned as All-Rounders, Defenders and Raiders.

Base costs for every one of the categories are: 

Category A – INR 30 Lakhs, 

Category B – INR 20 Lakhs 

Category C – INR 10 Lakhs

Category D – INR 6 Lakhs. 

Guidelines For Franchises

For each PKL Season, groups are permitted to hold up to six players as the Elite Retained Players and up to six New Young Players (NYPs) under specified conditions. 

Furthermore, of the 500+ players from the player pool, players who are not held by the franchisees will go for the auction. 

Final Bid Match (FBM)

The Final Bid Match rule permits groups to coordinate with the last offered on players from the pool who was a member of their team in the past season. The FBM card can be utilized just twice by each group. This number relies upon the number of reservations. Assuming a group decides to hold their greatest dispensed 6 players, they can’t practice this choice. On the off chance that they hold five, they can utilize this choice once and if the number is lower than five they can utilize it twice.
