Chris Dobey had a fantastic start to his Cazoo Premier League Darts debut, defeating the defending champion Michael van Gerwen on Night One in Belfast to clinch the opening mini-event. Earlier, MVG defeated Michael Smith in a rematch of the World Championship final but, his loss in the championship match will leave him with a bitter aftertaste.

2023 Cazoo Premier League Darts night one results, winner, scores, best performers, & night two schedule
Dobey began by defeating world No. 2 Peter Wright 6-3 before defeating Nathan Aspinall 6-4 to qualify for the championship round. In an exciting final against the reigning champion Michael van Gerwen, Dobey scored a 170 checkout in the second-leg before bagging 160 checkout in the decisive leg to clinch the first night of 2023 Premier League Darts. Following his victory, Dobey is leading the field with five points and will step into next week’s event as one of the favorites.
Van Gerwen moves up to second place on the preliminary table with three league points after victories over Michael Smith and Dimitri Van den Bergh. Additionally, quarterfinal victories over Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price allow semifinalists Aspinall and Van den Bergh to leave Belfast with two points each.
On February 9, the Cazoo Premier League roadshow visits Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena for Night Two of the league phase, where Welsh stars Price and Clayton will face-off in one of the quarterfinal matches.

It is well known that the winner of this prestigious competition will be eligible for a colossal prize of £275,000 from the overall prize fund of £1,000,000.
