Premier League 22/23 yellow cards rules explained and players nearing suspension

Here are the names of the players who are banned or are one-game ban away and what are the Premier League suspension rules

The players who have received five yellow cards and are now serving a one-match suspension from the FPL should be known to the GPL managers, as well as those who are close to receiving a punishment.

Here are the yellow card regulations and the ones that make a list of the crucial players that are affected.

Premier League 22/23 yellow cards rules explained and players list nearing suspension

Yellow card rule

A one-match suspension is imposed on players who receive five yellow cards in their team’s first 19 games. The FA Cup and the Carabao Cup are not appropriate venues for serving this or imposing this rule. If a player receives 10 bookings by their 32nd game, they are subject to a two-game suspension.

Several players, including Bruno Fernandes (£9.8m), Diogo Dalot (£4.8m), and James Maddison (£8.2m), have already completed their one-match suspensions. The number of games each team has played so far ranges from 16 to 18, thus some players who are close to receiving a suspension still have a few matches to play before the five-card threshold expires.

How many games have each EPL team played?

Each team had played the following amount of games before Wednesday’s (January 4) games:

Players with a double game week or nearing a suspension

Gameweek 19 features a double game week between Fulham and Chelsea.

While no players for Chelsea have received four yellow cards, Fulham’s Mitrovic and Antonee Robinson (worth £4.4 million) were both one card away from a suspension coming into their two games.

Fulham’s opener against Chelsea will be without Mitrovic because he was suspended for the team’s opening game against Leicester.

Owners of Robinson may, however, breathe easy because he was not forewarned, making him accessible for both matches of the double.
