Pokemon Go Giovanni May 2022 Match Up, Counters, Location
First and foremost, here is a preview of Giovanni’s team for May:
- Lead: Persian
- Second: Honchkrow/Gyarados/Rhyperior
- Last: Shadow Latias
In some ways, knowing Giovanni’s team’s guaranteed two slots is preferable; nevertheless, one of them (Shadow Latias) may be tough to counter.
When it comes to dealing with Persian, however, trainers can only deploy Fighting-type Pokemon. If Giovanni employs it, Fighting-types can also defeat Rhyperior, putting the trainer in a strong position.
Any Fighting-type would suffice, but trainers should seek ones who have the Dynamic Punch move. It could prevent them from receiving significant damage while attempting to charge up an alternative move, such as Close Combat and Focus Blast.
Breloom, Machamp, Lucario, and Conkeldurr are examples of being strong Fighting-types for this battle. Trainers will need the means to deal with Honchkrow or Gyarados if Giovanni does not bring Rhyperior second. They’re both Flying-type Pokemon, which means they’ll be destroyed by Electric Pokemon.
Gyarados should be dealt with by any Electric-type in the game, as it takes quadruple super-effective harm from Electric attacks. Trainers may want to use the stronger Electric-types in the game and put Honchkrow in a better position.
Zapdos, Mega Manectric, Raikou, and Magnezone are examples of powerful Electric-type Pokemon in the game. All of these characters have high numbers, and the majority of them can use Wild Charge.
Now comes the tough part: dealing with Shadow Latias. It’s perplexing because, while Dragon-types do the greatest damage to Latias, they also absorb the most damage from its Outrage.
Trainers may surely count on Dialga if it is present. It’s Dragon + Steel, thus Latias’ Dragon techniques do not affect it. Otherwise, unless they have a high CP, using any other Dragon might be a bad idea.
