The 12 franchise teams received total of 30 players, with up to Final Bid Match (FBM) cards being used on Day 1.

The Season 9 Player Auctions for the League have seen a lot of competitive bidding and a few surprises. In this Player Auction, the non-retained players in the Domestic, Overseas, and New Young Players (NYPs) categories were sorted into four groups: Category A, B, C, and D. Within each category, the players were further separated into “All-Rounders,” “Defenders,” and “Raiders.”

1- Pawan Kumar Sehrawat (India)

After being acquired by Tamil Thalaivas for a staggering figure of Rs 2.26 crore, Sehrawat became the first player in PKL history to earn more than Rs 2 crore. The top raider for the past three seasons has been Sehrawat, also known as the “HI-Flyer.” The professional athlete was rated as the best raider in the eighth season of the Pro Kabbadi League. He was the most valuable player in season six.

2- Vikash Khandola (India)

Bengaluru Bulls paid Rs 1.70 crore for the 24-year-old raider, who was previously a member of the Haryana Steelers team till last season, making him the second most expensive purchase in the history of the PKL Auction. The Running Hand Touch is Vikash’s key offensive tool.

3- Fazel Atrachali (Iran)

After being purchased by Puneri Paltan for INR 1.38Cr, the Iranian kabaddi icon Fazel Atrachali broke the record for the most expensive defender and international player ever. When U Mumba selected Atrachali in the 2018 PKL Player Auctions for INR 1 crore, he already held both of the records. In the PKL, Sultan’ Fazel is referred to as a Tiger. He is undoubtedly one of the strongest defenders to watch out for this season with his lethal and cunning manoeuvres.

4- Guman Singh (India)

U Mumba purchased Guman for a staggering INR 1.21 crore, making him the most expensive Category B player at the PKL Player Auctions. The raider, who played for the Patna Pirates last season, was a standout during Season 8, scoring 95 points in 19 games.

5- Pardeep Narwal (India)

When receiving an offer from the Gujarat Giants for Rs 90 lakh, the seasoned raider Nrawal returned to the UP Yoddha team after the franchisee utilised the Final Bid Match (FBM) Card to keep him. Narwal, a left raider, is an expert at every trick in the book and is particularly skilled at the “Dubki,” a difficult escape manoeuvre for a raider that requires him to hide below a line of defenders and quickly rise from the mat.
