PKL season 10 2023 auction postponed new date, time, rules, teams, purse, players list, venue and live streaming telecast
On October 9 and 10, the same Mumbai location will host the two-day player auction that was postponed last week. The time hasn’t been revealed as of now. Over 500 players, including Pawan Kumar Sehrawat, will be up for auction, with 12 teams prepared to engage in bidding wars.
The Two-Day Player Auction
The PKL Season 10 Player Auction was previously planned for September 8–9.
The Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India requested that the auction be postponed from that date due to the ongoing preparations of the Indian Kabaddi team for the Asian Games, which begin later this month.
Anupam Goswami, the commissioner of the PKL league, was thrilled to reveal the new dates for the auction, which will now happen after the Hangzhou Asian Games. He said, “We are delighted to announce that the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 Player Auction will now be held immediately after the Asian Games.”
He further added that they are confident that a blockbuster player auction featuring several star athletes from the Asian Games will draw competitive bidding from the PKL teams. They will be meeting with very strong fan excitement and interest.
Number Of Players At The PKL 2023 Auction
The Season 10 Player Pool will have 500+ participants, including the 24 players from the two Khelo India University Games 2023 finalist teams. Each franchise has access to INR 5 crore in salary funds. According to the League Player Policy for the season, the PKL teams have already started assembling their rosters for PKL Season 10.
The PKL teams used their right to keep players from their respective PKL Season 9 clubs in August 2023.
Three categories of players were available for franchises to retain:
- Elite Retained Players (ERP)
- Retained Young Players (RYP)
- Existing New Young Players (ENYP)
84 players in total were kept, including 22 from the ERP category, 24 from RYP, and 38 from ENYP. At the PKL Season 10 Player Auction, the non-retained players—among them stars Pawan Sehrawat, Vikash Kandola, and Fazel Atrachali—will be auctioned off.
The Salary Purse for PKL Season 10 Auction
After three seasons, each franchise’s total salary purse for its team climbed from Rs. 4.4 crore to Rs. 5 crore. So, based on their retentions, each franchise will have a purse of up to Rs. 5 crore.
