2021-22 Pro Kabaddi League Season returned after a two-year absence due to COVID-19 on 22nd December 2021. However, the official announcement from Mashal Sports on Monday night created headache for PKL fans.
Explained Why Are Matches Being Postponed In Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 2021-22
PKL organizers Mashal Sports announced the unfortunate news that two out of twelve teams are affected with covid. The organizers haven’t revealed impacted teams’ names or the number of players. However, they have assured that all the positive tested players are isolated as per safety protocols.
For a match to go ahead, teams need to field a minimum of 12 players, but few teams won’t fulfill the criteria. After reviewing the conditions, organizers decided to reschedule a few matches. Some matches initially scheduled to be played between 25th and 30th January are rescheduled. The organizers will keep a keen eye on the situation to prevent any other cases of COVID-19.

PKL 2022 COVID Cases And Teams: Fears of Postponement
The organizers have taken utmost care to place the players inside bio-bubble and avoid COVID-19 contact. After the COVID-19 outbreak, the organizers discussed the scenario with all PKL teams. The participants concluded to reschedule few matches of 25th-30th January. The organizers assured that they consider players’ health a top priority. The rescheduled matches will occur only after impacted teams test negative and the danger is clear.
PKL 2021-22 seasons earlier underwent massive changes after changing the traveling format and hosting events in a single location. The location was previously declared as the Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bangalore. However, it got relocated to the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Convention Center in Whitefield, Bangalore.
