Pillow Fight Becomes Official Sport: Know Its Rules And About The PFC
The Pillow Fight Championship (PFC) is a real sport in which two people fight within a ring with a pillow that appears to be comfortable.
It’s comparable to boxing, but you’re permitted to use a specially designed PFC-branded pillow to really thump your opponent.
What Is The Pillow Fight Championship?
Pillow Fight Championship began “with an idea to produce a real fighting sport that would appeal to the international family audience by mixing the ancient weapon known as a “pillow” with experienced MMA competitors and boxers and stringent rules,” according to their website.
Each battle consists of three two-minute rounds.
According to the PFC, they’ve ‘soon grown into a highly popular sport-based display complete with all of the power, stamina, and strategic skills of the other more deadly combat sports but with a massive amount of fun.’
They boast that their game has “all the thrill of a hand-to-hand combat fight without the blood and a lot more action.”
A PFC combat took place over the weekend in Florida, and the pay-per-view event had 16 men and eight women competing for a title belt and a $5,000 cash prize.
Istela Nunes of Brazil won the women’s division, while Hauley Tillman of the United States won the men’s. They’ve been crowned the first-ever champions of the PFC. Some UFC stars have entered the competition, notably Marcus Brimage, Conor McGregor’s first opponent, and Markus Perez.
However, the new combat technique demonstrated that there can still be some argy bargy that isn’t pillow-related. When Reggie Newsome, an MMA athlete and fitness coach, misplaced his pillow, Perez was in the middle of a battle. Despite this, Perez proceeded to attack him, resulting in a heated brawl before a referee intervened to calm the situation.
PFC president Steve Williams is optimistic that the sport will gain popularity shortly.
