Nicole Perales, a probation officer with over 20 years of experience, is now under severe scrutiny. The 50-year-old officer is now facing grave charges that could result in nearly four years in prison and mandatory registration as a s*x offender, if convicted.

The allegations against Nicole Perales, according to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, suggest that she allegedly had or*l s*x with a 15-year-old inmate from August 27, 2004, to August 26, 2005. Also the charges are serious, and the implications far-reaching for the veteran probation officer.
Charges against deputy sheriffs raise larger concern
Alongside the charges against Nicole Perales, two deputy sheriffs – Sheri Baughman, 49, and Amanda Bracamontes, 30, are also under investigation for their alleged involvement in covering up the suicide of Vinetta Martin in a county jail in 2021. The deputies face accusations of falsifying records to disguise their negligence following Martin’s suicide alert.
District Attorney Price argued that the deputies’ logbooks, intended to demonstrate their proper visual observations, did not align with the video evidence. Alameda County Sheriff Yesenia Sanchez, responding to the charges against her deputies, affirmed the department’s cooperation with the ongoing investigation led by District Attorney Price. “The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office has cooperated with District Attorney Price’s office in this investigation and will continue to do so going forward,” Sanchez said in a statement.
